Description
Positive displacement pumps
FBF ITALIA positive displacement pumps are structurally very similar to high-pressure homogenizers and manufactured to the same high quality standards.
From the outside, positive displacement pumps differ from homogenizers in that they lack a homogenization unit. For products containing particles, these pumps are primarily used for positive displacement pumping of products containing particles, such as tomato, vegetable, or fruit pieces in soups, yogurts, jams, etc., even in the presence of particularly high back pressures (typically 50 bar or more).
The construction of positive displacement pumps is very similar to that of homogenizers, except for the compression head, which is equipped with special particle-controlled valve assemblies.
These valves are equipped with actuators controlled by an electronic angle positioner to ensure perfect operation of each valve. The angle positioner allows the opening and closing phases of each individual valve group to be independently adjusted.
The pump's ability to operate at low speeds, combined with specially designed passages in the pump-controlled valves, results in low speeds and very smooth handling, while maintaining the specific characteristics of even the most delicate products.
